  • Arum claims Floyd Mayweather played McGregor during epic fight
  • Mayweather claims he didn't train for McGregor fight

Top Rank founder and Manny Pacquiao’s former promoter Bob Arum said that Conor McGregor would be knocked out quick by the Filipino legend.

Now that the eight-division title holder and current WBA welterweight champ Pacquiao has been reportedly set to return inside the ring in a few months, speculations of a fight with UFC star McGregor is believed to more possible than a showdown with Mikey Garcia. And while nothing is official yet, some in boxing already thinks the legendary boxer will beat the MMA star easy.

This is what Top Rank’s Arum said about the outcome of Pacquiao vs. McGregor fight. In an interview with Business Insider, the veteran promoter stated that the said bout isn’t too interesting for him as he already know “Pac-man” will quickly knock out McGregor.

According to Arum, Floyd Mayweather may have “played” games with McGregor during their epic bout in 2017 and made it last longer than it should. But Pacquiao is a fighter who doesn’t know how to play would finish McGregor ASAP.

"Mayweather played with him, that was a joke. Pacquiao doesn't know how to play. So McGregor is getting knocked out pretty quick. Pacquiao couldn't play the way Mayweather did," Arum pointed out.

Apparently, Arum may have been telling the truth. Just recently, Mayweather reflected on his victorious win against McGregor. As expected, the undefeated champ boasted about the win and claimed that he didn’t actually train for the said fight. He even emphasized that he intentionally made the fight last a little longer to give fans a show but could definitely end it right away.

“For the Conor McGregor fight I didn’t really train. All I did was do push-ups and sit-ups, boxed a few times, hit the bag a few times. Sometimes I wouldn’t go to the gym for a week,” Mayweather revealed to Drink Champs

“I took it serious, but I wanted to have some fun in the fight and I wanted to entertain the people. You have to give the people a show, so I gave the people a show. If I wanted to go out there and f*** him up and blaze him right out the gate, I could’ve did that. But my thing is this, if I would’ve did that, then it wouldn’t be probably a part two,” he added.

As a professional boxer, McGregor has a record of 0-1 and has yet to prove himself inside the ring yet. However, he is still viewed as a competitive opponent for world champions.
