Marc Anthony’s Ex-Girlfriend Shannon De Lima Denies Jennifer Lopez Caused Their Split

Marc Anthony’s ex-girlfriend, Shannon De Lima, is finally breaking her silence over her split from the music mogul.

During a recent appearance on “Despierta America” (via People), the Venezuelan beauty denied that Anthony’s ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, caused their split. Last year, the “Shades of Blue” actress kissed Anthony while on stage at the Latin Grammys. Rumors swirled that De Lima was upset over the bold move that’s why she ended things with Anthony.

“It was not the kiss. We had been separated already for about a month,” she said. De Lima also denied the rumors that she and Lopez are not in good terms. “People make up this movie in their minds and create a rivalry where there is none,” she continued.

De Lima also revealed that she and Lopez get along really well that she’s even visited her house while she was still dating Casper Smart. She also attended Lopez and Anthony’s twins’ Max and Emme’s birthday celebrations a couple of times.

Meanwhile, even though the 29-year-old and Anthony is no longer an item, the two have stayed good friends. “He was very important in my life. I just saw him recently,” she revealed.

De Lima’s 10-year-old son, Dani, with her ex-partner, Manuel Sosa, also has a good relationship with Anthony. In fact, Dani calls Anthony “Daddy Marc.” De Lima also has a wonderful bond with Anthony and Lopez’s twins, who she still talks to regularly.

“I care for his children very much. I still talk to them. They are family,” she said. “We are really great friends. I care for him a lot. Things don’t work out sometimes, but it’s not as dramatic as people see it,” she said about Anthony.

Anthony has also stayed good friends with Lopez despite their decision to get a divorce. In fact, they even teamed up for a successful concert that benefited the relief efforts in Puerto Rico. Lopez’s boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez, also helped out with organizing the event.
