Maria Sharapova models in new Nike ads

Maria Sharapova, the tennis sensation who has modeled for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue will return to modeling. Sharapova has signed on to star in Nike's newest ad campaign.

The campaign is called Make Yourself and features six other female athletes in additon to Sharapova. Nike hired famed photographer Annie Leibovitz to shoot the ad. Pictures include group shots and individual portraits, including one of Sharapova in tight, blue spandex shorts doing crunches while she gazes at the camera.

The new ads are set to run in Seveteen, InStyle and Glamour. The ad comes at a make or break time for Sharapova, while she is the most familiar face in women's tennis she was just edged out of the French Open by Li Na.
