“Mario Kart” fans rejoice! “Mario Kart Tour” is set to be released next month and will be available for players on iOS and Android.

Nintendo has finally announced that “Mario Kart Tour,” the first “Mario Kart” title for mobiles, will be released for iOS and Android on Sept. 25, which is a little less than a month away. This is the third “Mario” game for mobile, following “Super Mario Run” and “Dr. Mario World.”

The game will let players from different places play as Mario, Luigi, or any character from the series as they race through various courses “inspired by real-world locations.” And just like other “Mario Kart” titles, players can use powerful items to knock out fellow karters and race their way to the top spot.

Interested and excited players can now pre-order the game for devices running on iOS, or pre-register for devices running on the Android platform.

Compatibility

The Apple App Store listing reveals a few details. It lists the game as rated for players aged 4 and up; requires iOS 10.0 or later and can run on the iPhone 6S and newer, iPad Air, iPad Mini 2 and newer, iPad Pro, and iPod Touch. The listing also reveals that the game’s size is 193.5MB.

The Google Play Store listing, on the other hand, does not give any detail regarding the game’s compatibility with Android devices. The Play Store does not specify the Android version needed to run the game. It also does not list the game’s download size. It simply says all of the aforementioned info “varies with device.”

The official “Mario Kart Tour” page, however, reveals that it is compatible with Android devices running Android 4.4 or later. It also states that the game will support devices with a minimum of 1.5GB of RAM.

Screenshots on the App Store listing reveal that it’s pretty interesting to see how the game looks like when played on a larger screen (i.e. iPad). While it doesn’t look bad on small screens (like the one on the iPhone), players will get to see a lot more detail when the game is played on a device with a wider display.
