Mark Consuelos, Kelly Ripa’s Daughter Lola Finally Agrees To Share Family Portrait
Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa’s 16-year-old daughter, Lola Consuelos, is very particular when it comes to the photos that her parents upload on social media.
But on a rare occasion, the teenager allowed her mom to share their newest family portrait on Instagram. The snap, which was taken at Lola’s 16th birthday, shows the teenager standing close to her dad, while her brothers, Michael, 20, and Joaquin, 14, hugged each other. Ripa is standing in front of her husband, and she tried to do a “cool” pose.
In her caption, the “Live With Kelly and Ryan” host revealed that her only daughter approved of their latest photo. In October, Ripa appeared on the “Tonight Show” where she revealed that her daughter doesn’t like when she posts photos of the teenager online.
“It’s so bizarre. I’m never allowed to post a photo of her. Why did I have these kids if not to exploit them on social media?” she said.
Ripa just uploaded one of Lola’s photos before heading to her interview on “Tonight Show” (via Entertainment Tonight) and when she saw it, she asked her mom to take it down.
“I was like, ‘You know what? She can’t get mad at an eight-year-old photo. It’s a Halloween throwback Thursday.’ I’m in the elevator coming up here and the phone rings and it says ‘Lola’… I was like, ‘Maybe I shouldn’t answer it, but what if it’s an emergency?’ She’s like, ‘You take it down right now! My friends follow you for some reason and they will see this!’ “I was like, you know what, I will take it down. I’ll take it down for you. And that was the end of the conversation,” Ripa said.
But even though she took the photo down, she decided to show it off on “Tonight Show” because she never told her daughter that she won’t share it anywhere else.
Ripa and Consuelos became first-time parents with their 20-year-old son in 1997 followed by Lola in 2001 and Joaquin in 2003. The couple tied the knot on May 1, 1996 and has been together for 21 years.
