Marni Creates Juxtaposition of Colors and Prints for H&M (VIDEO)
Following the widely acclaimed and successful collaboration with design house Versace, Swedish retail brand H&M has announced a second similar partnership with Italy-based fashion label Marni.
The high-end fashion brand, founded by designer Consuelo Castiglioni, will create a spring collection for both women and men and will be available for purchase, worldwide, starting March 8, 2012. In addition, customers will also be able to order the clothing and accessories online, at the H&M Web site. The Italian label founded in 1994, is known for original prints, an inventive spirit and is quite popular among those who have an affinity for pop fashion with a boho touch.
Marni has such a modern touch with everything they do, mixing prints and accessories in a playful but chic way. It's fantastic to see how Consuelo Castiglioni coordinates her designs, matching new combinations of print and colour, with such incredible craftsmanship behind every piece, stated Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor at H&M, about the new collaboration.
True to Marni's ethos, the new collection, according to a release by the company, will be all about bold colors and strong prints. The creations are either African-inspired or simpler color blocks comprising full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knit. The men's collection, however, has less emphasis on color, opting for a softer and more relaxed profile. In addition, there will also be a collection of accessories, including bags, jewelry, shoes and scarves, for both men and women.
The new collaboration is regarded as one of the largest by H&M, which has previously collaborated with brands such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin and most recently Versace.
