‘Married At First Sight’ Season 4 Spoilers: Sonia Makes A Change In Episode 13 [RECAP]

The experiment is almost over, but the newlyweds still haven’t made their final decisions yet. In “Married at First Sight” Season 4, episode 13, both couples went on second honeymoons to help their relationships. Everyone bonded with their spouse, but one duo felt their differences were clearer than ever.

Tom and Lillian

These two have serious disagreements about work/life balance. Lillian Vilchez works a lot, and Tom Wilson thinks her job should stop when she comes home. The two talk to sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and she says they need to carve out time that’s specifically devoted to each other.

“Married at First Sight” is sending the two on a short vacation, and Dr. Pepper recommends they put down electronic devices as much as possible during the second honeymoon.

Tom really wants to take his bus on this short trip. They decide to go down to the Florida Keys and stay in an RV park. Lillian is a little frustrated by how long it takes to get the bus ready to move. “She is a little bit prissy and definitely tends to complain about little things,” Tom tells the cameras.

Lillian knows that this trip is going to highlight their differences. She needs to figure out what Tom values more: their marriage or his lifestyle?

After they start driving, Lillian offers to help with the bus. Tom sees it as her accepting his lifestyle. Still, Lillian has complaints about the heat and the bugs, and she can’t sleep very well on the bus mattress.

When they go out and start their day, Lillian says that she is leaving her phone on the bus. Tom is proud that his wife is keeping her promise.

The two go snorkeling, but Lillian is a little afraid. Tom loves the water, and she wants to make him happy. She goes in the water for her husband, and he stays with her the whole time. He knows she is afraid of sharks and makes sure she feels safe.

Lillian says that she is going to the doctor this week, and she’ll have to get surgery on her shoulder soon. Tom asks if she would be willing to go to an alternative medicine specialist, but Lillian went to medical school. She believes in traditional medicine. Tom is disappointed that she isn’t open to his way of thinking.

This is one of the things that worries her about her relationship. She has seen three doctors who have all said the same thing. She has an education in medicine and knows the risks of putting off this surgery. Lillian thinks Tom just wants to be right all the time.

Nick and Sonia

Nick Pendergrast really wants Sonia Granados to move back into the house, but Sonia still isn’t sure she can trust her husband. They go on a quick getaway to South Beach, and they hope that they’ll be able to reconnect over this trip.

The two go on a fun tandem bike ride together. Sonia says this is a trust exercise for her because she can’t see around her husband’s back. She notes that the trip is making her forget their recent problems.

When the two go out to dinner, Sonia wears her “freakum dress.” Nick is very impressed with her look and lets her know. Sonia is happy to actually hear him compliment her.

Nick feels like they’re making progress and that Sonia has forgiven him, but he isn’t sure she is ready to move in yet. He asks her how she feels and she says they’re in a good place. She isn’t sure she’d do this all over again if given the chance, though. Nick says he’d absolutely do “Married at First Sight” all over again.

He brings up their living situation, and she still isn’t sure. She is worried that things will be the way they were before the separation. Still, she feels “hopeful” and appreciates Nick’s patience.

The newlyweds sleep next to each other on their second honeymoon. It reminds Nick how much he wants a partner. He clarifies that they didn’t have sex, though, and he isn’t really sure where Sonia stands with him at this point. He’d like to see a little more effort from her.

Sonia tells her diary cam that she had a nice time, and she wishes they had more time on this trip. She isn’t sure what the future holds for them right now.

When they get back to the house, Sonia still doesn’t feel like she can move back in. She wants to be in a place where she can gather her thoughts before making such a huge decision. She is going back to her house, but she makes one small but very important change before leaving her husband alone for the night.

“I don’t want for him to think that I don’t believe in this marriage,” Sonia tells the cameras. She shows Nick that she put her wedding ring back on. She says she is committed to this process. Nick views that decision as a step in the right direction.
