‘Married At First Sight’ Season 8 Couples Consider Divorce Before Decision Day
It’s the last day before decision day, and the “Married at First Sight” couples are stressed. They have to make a decision about whether they want to stay married or get a divorce, and it seems like even the couples who are on solid ground are considering a breakup in Season 8, episode 14 of the Lifetime reality show.
Luke and Kate
After last week’s blowout fight, this couple sits down to watch their wedding video, and they even feel hopeful. “This is hard, but I just don’t feel like we’ve given everything we could yet. And I want to keep going,” Kate says.
Kate sees her friends and says there’s “a big part of him” that she really likes. Kate’s friends aren’t so sure, though. They point out that Luke has sent some mixed signals and done some manipulative things. They question if she likes Luke or the idea of a husband.
They also worry that Kate doesn’t seem like her usual self. They think he has changed her, and she seems less happy since marrying him. “I don’t understand why you’d want to stay with somebody who brings you down,” one of her friends says.
After speaking to her friends, Kate knows that she has to look out for herself, and she’s leaning towards divorce.
At dinner, she gets honest with Luke and says that she feels like everything else in his life comes first — like work, friends and family. He says that he likes her, but Kate says she doesn’t know that because he seems to go back and forth. Luke claims he never actually said he didn’t like her and thinks Kate misremembers their conversations. Kate assures him that she remembers very clearly because he has said he didn’t like her multiple times.
When Kate asks how Luke feels, he says that she does things that he finds very attractive, and then he says that he doesn’t feel like he provides Kate with what she wants. But he assures her that he wants to stay married and says that he cares about her. He wants more time.
They manage to end dinner laughing and happy, but how long will that last?
“Married at First Sight” is making the couples spend the night apart before decision day, and Luke tells the camera that he wants to be on the same page as his wife. Kate feels overwhelmed with different emotions and wishes Luke would’ve talked to her more so they could go in with a united decision.
AJ and Stephanie
This couple goes to the gym together, but AJ isn’t used to Stephanie’s routine. He is frustrated and starts getting short with everyone, even the class instructor. He knows marriage requires compromise, but he doesn’t think physical fitness needs to be a compromise.
For Stephanie, his short temper is truly the problem. Later, at dinner, she admits that his frustration outbursts make her nervous.
When they separate for the night, AJ admits he cares very much about his wife, but he’s worried. Stephanie is still concerned about his frustration, and she just doesn’t know if anything will change when the cameras leave.
Will and Jasmine
Jasmine meets with her friends to talk about what’s working against their marriage. Will isn’t as neat and clean at home, and he is much more laid back than her. They also still have some intimacy issues. She just isn’t sure if they can stay together in the long run.
They go to dinner, and they both know that they have a lot of thinking to do. They’ve worked on their marriage a lot in the past couple weeks, but do they feel like they have the foundation for a good marriage?
Keith and Kristine
Keith says his marriage is “my happily ever after.” He says he’s close to telling Kristine that he loves her, but even the most stable “Married at First Sight” couple seems to be having second thoughts.
Kristine has a long list of things she likes about her husband, and her mom likes him too. She still seems unsure of what will happen on decision day, though. When they separate for the night, Keith and Kristine say they aren’t quite sure if they want to stay together.
“Married at First Sight” Season 8 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
