‘Married At First Sight’ Season 8 Spoilers: Kate Reveals Secret Sex Life
“Married at First Sight” Season 8 has put Luke and Kate through a lot, but the latest episode revealed that they actually have had sex. The two consummated their marriage during their honeymoon (the one where he said he was “repulsed” by kissing her). Kate opened up about the complicated situation during episode 12 of the Lifetime reality show.
Kate and Luke
Luke got tickets to see the ballet, which excites Kate. After Kate admitted last week that she was thinking they had to get a divorce, Luke seems to be trying to step up. He tells her how nice she looks, and they both seem committed to making it work.
Luke says he is “all in” with this marriage, and the two seem ready to have fun. They feel like they’re doing a lot better after the near-breakdown last week.
They go to dinner with Pastor Cal Roberson, one of the “Married at First Sight” experts, with the three other couples. He announces that all they’re all going on a mini-moon to the Poconos together.
Before they leave, Kate calls another expert, Dr. Pepper Schwartz. She says that Luke has been having her keep a secret since the beginning of their marriage. She feels bad for revealing this secret, but she needs to talk about it. “Luke and I have been having sex since the honeymoon, and it’s awkward,” Kate reveals.
They’ve had sex five or six times, but Luke always gets serious. He leaves Kate alone for a couple of hours after it happens.
Kate says that the first time she asked to have sex, Luke had sex with her but later admitted he didn’t actually want to consummate their marriage. Kate felt terrible and says that has affected their relationship the entire time.
Kate explains that since their first time, when Luke suggests having sex, she talks to him and makes sure that he really wants to have sex with her. She doesn’t want to pressure him into it, but Luke insists it’s fine. However, it never seems fine afterward when he closes himself off from her.
She has tried to talk to him about it, but he just shuts down. She believes Luke thinks he should want to have sex with her. She doesn’t think her husband actually desires her.
Kate wants to bring in professional help and wants Dr. Pepper to help her figure out how to get Luke to work with an expert. Dr. Pepper advises she start off with an apology because she did betray his trust. However, they need to sort this out and work through their feelings.
Though Kate was discussing divorce just last week, Kate says she wants this marriage to succeed. She can see why the experts matched them and thinks they’d have a great life together.
Luke teases Kate about over packing for the three-day trip, but she doesn’t change the subject. She is afraid of his reaction, so she stays quiet as they head to the Poconos. She worries her conversation with Dr. Pepper could ruin their marriage.
They head to a waterfall in the mountains, and they actually have fun together. Luke gives her compliments and Kate feels really happy. Luke says the waterfall is a metaphor for their relationship: fluid and changing.
Luke asks Kate if there’s anything she is holding back, but she doesn’t come clean about talking to Dr. Pepper about their sex life. She will fess up in next week’s “Married at First Sight” episode, and it’ll bring about an explosive fight between the two.
Jasmine and Will
Jasmine cooks a meal for her husband, and she wants to try to open up to Will more and get to know each other better. She wears some lingerie and hopes that after they do some talking, they can get even more intimate.
Before bed, they do the kissing exercise, but it doesn’t go wonderfully. Jasmine feels great, but Will explains that intimacy for him is intellectual. He thinks talking would be sexier. Jasmine feels like that’s what they were doing during their whole dinner. She says he is “using mental intimacy as a crutch.” She feels like she just can’t win with him.
They talk about their intimate night, and Will says that he said things in the wrong order. He realizes that Jasmine doesn’t remember his compliments. He should’ve focused on the good things, like the fact that she is a good kisser, and mentioned his desire for intellectual connection later.
Jasmine sees he is trying and that’s a good sign, but is it enough for them to stay together?
Stephanie and AJ
During the group dinner, these two say that they’re falling in love, and that’s why they want some alone time. AJ is disappointed that the mini-moon is a group activity.
When they arrive at the house with the other couples, AJ is angry that they’re sharing a house. He thinks it’s ridiculous and wants a hotel, which really brings down the vibe of the house. Stephanie knows that he needs to just vent and thinks his anger is a lot easier to handle now that she knows this.
AJ decides to drink a lot and makes several inappropriate comments, which slowly drives everyone away. Kristine and Keith head to their room pretty quickly, and even Stephanie decides to go to bed early.
He tells the others that he drunkenly signed up for “Married at First Sight” and asks Luke a lot of personal questions. Luke felt he was being too aggressive, so he and Kate head to bed. Will and Jasmine don’t last much longer.
AJ wakes up the next morning in a great mood. He’s happy and ready to go. He and Stephanie take a pottery class, which is filled with sexual innuendos, and AJ seems to finally start having fun.
Kristine and Keith
These two were low drama on this week’s “Married at First Sight. They picked the bedroom with the most privacy, and they seemed to be in a good place in the relationship. Audiences will see if that remains the case next week.
“Married at First Sight” Season 8 returns to its 9 p.m. EST timeslot next week on Lifetime.
