‘Married At First Sight’ Spoilers: Who Is Talking About Kids Before Honeymoon?
Lifetime’s “Married at First Sight” couples take things fast. They met on their wedding day, and just a day later, they’re set to go on their honeymoons in Antigua. However, things are a little different this year. For the first time, each spouse sits down individually with their in-laws the morning after the wedding. The subject of kids came up more than once in Season 9, episode 3.
Amber and Matt
Amber and Matt are very attracted to each other, and they make it clear that they both want to have sex on their wedding night. However, they didn’t want to rush into things.
Matt reveals his parents weren’t present at the wedding because he didn’t tell them he was getting married at first sight. He hasn’t spoken to his father in two years, so he felt like calling him out of the blue would be odd. He thought about telling his mother, but the bad feelings about his parents’ divorce left him feeling like he shouldn’t.
Amber meets with Matt’s best friends instead of his parents. They ask why she is still single, and Amber admits that she picks guys who are unavailable.
Matt, meanwhile, meets with Amber’s parents and it was “kind of intense,” he said. They question Matt about if he plans to move and why he didn’t invite his family. He reveals that his family issues are recent, and he thinks they’ll reconnect eventually.
When Matt and Amber reunite, Amber asks about if he wants to give his son his name. Matt is Matt Gwynne IV and his son could potentially be the fifth with the name. Amber thinks it’s fun to joke about their future kid, but she can tell Matt looks awkward.
Elizabeth and Jamie
Elizabeth is not shy—even with the cameras present. She gets topless in front of the crew and Jamie while getting changed on her wedding night. Jamie tells the cameras that his wife his hot. She gets into her pajamas and makes her husband put on a face mask. The next morning, Elizabeth says they didn’t have sex on the first night because they were too tired.
Elizabeth’s meeting goes smoothly, but Jamie is a little more cautious when he meets her parents. They ask Jamie if he is willing to take their last name, and he isn’t loving that idea. Her mother says maybe their firstborn could take their last name, but Elizabeth’s dad does not want to hear about babies yet.
Her dad is very protective and says Jamie can’t have Elizabeth’s heart because it’s his. Jamie is worried about where he fits into Elizabeth’s life if her dad isn’t willing to let go.
Later, they discuss Elizabeth’s nickname. She says her friends say Beth, and then Matt asks what her dad calls her. He also says Beth for the most part, so Matt decides he’ll say Elizabeth instead.
After they get to Antigua, Elizabeth puts on some lingerie. She tells the cameras that she wants to have sex with her husband. “Honestly, I woke up this morning wanting to climb Jamie like a tree, but I wanted to wait until our honeymoon to actually have sex with him because I think it would be more memorable and romantic,” she said.
The episode ends after some pretty steamy kissing. Are they the first couple of the season to consummate their marriage?
Deonna and Gregory
These two have chemistry and are pretty at ease with each other right away. Their parent meetings go super smoothly. Deonna asks Greg if he’s “still alive” after meeting her parents, but Greg says they loved him.
When they get to Antigua, Greg asks how she feels. “Are you smitten?” Greg asks.
Deonna says that word isn’t in her vocabulary. She assures him that she is comfortable, though, and that’s a great sign. Greg says he has a plan to “soften her up,” even if it takes a lot of time.
Deonna asks Greg how he feels. He says he has a little crush on his wife, and he’s excited. He thinks she’s going to be smitten soon enough.
Iris and Keith
Keith decides not to bring up that he knows that Iris is a virgin. He says he has “mixed emotions” about it, and it’s hard for him to picture anyone saving their self for marriage.
He stays positive when Iris tells him and says he isn’t trying to rush anything. Iris is so excited and already feels like he is exactly the kind of husband she wanted.
Iris feels like she gets along with Keith’s parents as well. They’re very positive, and she’s pretty happy. Keith doesn’t have such an easy time, but he is on good terms with her parents.
Iris’ father says he has to have “the daddy talk” with Keith. For Keith, understanding that Iris is a virgin helps him see why her father was so emotional at the wedding.
Iris’ father asks how Keith can make his daughter happy and make their marriage work. Keith says he wants to become a better person every day and listen to his wife all the time. He promises that to Iris’ father, and he gets a handshake. They seem to end their meeting on an optimistic note.
Iris is a little nervous about the honeymoon because she knows most couples have sex, but she’s pretty happy too. Antigua is romantic, and Keith is just as happy as his wife.
They discuss how weird the situation is since they don’t know each other. The honeymoon is also their first time living together. Iris has never lived with a guy before, and she says they should talk about their expectations. Keith says they’re going to have to adapt to blend their routines, and they both seem ready for it.
“If it’s worth anything, I could not have been matched with a better person,” he tells Iris, adding that she is exactly what he told the experts he wanted.
