The cast of "Iron Man" didn't have a smooth experience on their first day of filming the hit superhero flick.

Jeff Bridges played the villain Obadiah Stane in Jon Favreau's 2008 "Iron Man" starring Robert Downey Jr. He reflected on his time filming the hit movie, and the Oscar winner said it was "wonderful" making "Iron Man," but it was also "absolutely crazy."

"It was Marvel’s first adventure into making movies," Bridges told Vanity Fair. "It was so lucky to have Jon [Favreau] on there and [Robert] Downey, because both of them are terrific improvisers, and we spent a couple of weeks working on the script and rehearsing together, because we didn’t like the original script and we thought, 'Oh yeah, we fixed this, fixed that.'"

While the cast members worked together to improve the script to make it better, Marvel didn't feel the same. Bridges even shared how the production reacted after seeing their script on the day they were supposed to start filming.

"Then came the first day of shooting, and Marvel kind of threw out our script that we had been working on, said, ‘No, that’s no good. It’s got to be this and that,'" Bridges continued. "And so there was a lot of confusion about what our script was, what we were gonna say. We’d spend hours in one of our trailers going over lines and exploring how we were going to do it."

He admitted that the ordeal "drove me absolutely crazy" until he adjusted his mindset. He reminded himself that he was "making a $200 million student film," so he had to "relax and have fun." Bridges said it worked, and he got to play with "two incredible artists and just jam" with them.

He went on and called "Iron Man" the "best Marvel movie."

Bridges also talked about his other movie and TV projects, including "The Company She Keeps," "The Last Picture Show," "Tron," "The Mirror Has Two Faces," "The Big Lebowski," "The Contender," "Crazy Heart,"' "True Grit," "Hell or High Water" and "The Old Man."

Bridges plays Dan Chase, a former CIA operative in the American drama thriller TV series " The Old Man." The story is based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Thomas Perry.

In the interview, Bridges said he read the script and the book, and he liked the story and the script. So, he met with John Steinberg, Warren Littlefield and Dan Shotz.

"They got me, man," he said while smiling. "I got their dream. I caught their dream."

He praised the people behind the series, including the production team and crew. He also complimented Henry Kingi and Tim Connolly as master stunt coordinators because "they knew how to make it look real."

"The Old Man" airs every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX and streams on Hulu the next day.
