Carrie-Anne Moss may best be known for her role in the original 1999 “Matrix” film, a role she is once again revisiting 20 years later. However, the way she may have ultimately landed on the role of Trinity may have been due to her unique way of sniffing out the right parts.

Moss has been very busy in the last 20 years, working mostly on television and her roles have varied from the horror-comedy “Fido,” where she plays a suburban housewife, to “Jessica Jones,” where she played a cold deceitful lawyer. Most recently, she’s taken on the role of Maggie Griffin in the Norwegian crime-thriller “Wisting,” where she plays an American FBI agent, hunting down the elusive serial killer that escaped her grasp before making their way to Scandinavia.

Carrie-Anne Moss will return to play Trinity in “Matrix 4.” Warner Bros.

Entertainment Tonight revealed that Moss got the role when her manager brought it to her attention and she had an intuition about it.

“I really go by that kind of feeling like, ‘Does something feel like a heck yes or does it feel like a hell no?’ And this was just a heck yes,” Moss said, explaining that she ultimately accepted the role because of the “good vibes” she received from the project.

Moss explained that she decides on her roles based on her own instinct, rather than devising some formula. The multilingual show (in both English and Norwegian) was a bit of a prophetic choice, the actress revealed. When discussing her next role with her husband, Moss shared with him that she’d like to go to Norway for her next project. This was only several months before she signed on to play Maggie.

As for why she’s returning for ‘The Matrix 4,’ Moss apparently had such an awesome time with the original trilogy, she couldn’t wait to return. She explained that choosing her roles is one thing, but beyond that, the only control she has is how much she enjoys the experience.
