Matthew Perry Beat Up Justin Trudeau In 5th Grade Brawl

Former "Friends" star Matthew Perry confessed Wednesday he beat up Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau when they were in grade school.

"I was a couple years ahead of him," Perry confessed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." "I have a story about him that I'm not proud of. My friend Chris Murray, who was also in fifth grade in Canada, reminded me that we actually beat up Justin Trudeau."

The duo attended Rockcliffe Park Public School, which is where many politicians and ambassadors send their children.

Perry, 47, said he doesn’t know why he and Murray beat up Trudeau, 45. His father, Pierre Trudeau, was the Canadian prime minister at the time. Perry said, "I think he was excelling in a sport that we weren't, so it was pure jealousy."

He added, "I think he was the only kid in school we could beat up."

Perry backtracked, saying he wasn't "bragging" about what he did. He said that the entire situation was "terrible." Perry mused: "I was a stupid kid. I didn't want to beat him up."

The actor said he didn't reach out to Trudeau to apologize, but added, "I feel shame. I don't want to think about it."

However, the American-born, Ottawa-raised actor said he was, in fact, proud of Trudeau’s accomplishments in government. "...I think it was rather instrumental in him going to such great heights and becoming prime minister," Perry said. "Yeah, I think he said, 'I’m gonna rise above this and I’m gonna become prime minister.'"

As prime minster, Trudeau, who regularly make headlines for his good looks, is known for many things— not just his physical attributes. For starters, the politician is a mathematician. Last year, a reporter assumed Trudeau didn’t understand the concept of quantum computing, but was schooled by the prime minister.

In addition to his mathematical skills, Trudeau is very flexible. In 2013, he tweeted a picture of himself balancing in "peacock pose." His legs were high off the ground and his entire upper body rested on his arms.

Further, Truedeau is a proud feminist. After his election, he appointed a 50 percent female cabinet. When asked why, he casually said, "Because it’s 2015."

"Quite frankly, I talk about the fact that I’m a feminist as often as I can and every time I do it gets huge reaction and media reacts and the Twitterverse explodes and things like that, because here I am saying 'I’m a feminist,'" he told Vox last year. "I will keep saying that until there is no more reaction to that when I say it, because that’s where we want to get to."
