Meghan Markle has been advised to not get involved in a tit for tat war with Kate Middleton or the other members of the royal family.

Gemma Mullin, a journalist for The Sun, spoke with a source that likened Markle and Middleton’s alleged rift to Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s troubles from years ago.

“Meghan would be very unwise to get involved in a tit for tat war with Kate or anyone else. This is what Charles and Diana did through third parties and it brought the monarchy to its knees. A dignified silence is the best course. I’m sure there are tensions between Kate and Meghan but I also think they will work them out,” the source said.

The source’s statement came after reports swirled that Markle is not very popular with the palace staff. She allegedly sent out emails containing outrageous demands as early as 5 a.m. She also requested for air fresheners ahead of her wedding to help get rid of the musty smell at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, but her request was denied.

There have also been claims suggesting that Markle made Middleton cry during Princess Charlotte’s fitting ahead of her May 19 wedding. Middleton also allegedly scolded Markle after the latter reprimanded her personal staff. However, Kensington Palace just said that there is no truth to the reports.

Victoria Murphy, a journalist for Town & Country said that all of the stories about the Duchesses have left royal fans confused, including her. She is also unsure if the two female royals are actually at odds with each other.

“I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve been asked these questions since discussion of this so-called feud began just over a week ago. I’ve been asked by friends, by family, by people I barely know, and by some, I’ve only just met. I’m not surprised people want to know the truth (well, some do – others just want to be entertained with the what-ifs) but if I have learned one thing in covering the Royal Family for eight years, it is that getting to the bottom of anything that goes on behind closed palace doors is a big challenge,” she wrote.
