Meghan Markle Comforts Crying Girl During Cardiff Visit: ‘I Was Shy Too’
Meghan Markle left a mark on all the young kids she met during her visit to Cardiff, but there’s one that will remember her for the rest of her life.
A group of school children were supposed to perform for Markle and Prince Harry, but one of them became too overwhelmed with their presence. During their performance, 7-year-old Eloise cried and was led away by their teacher.
After seeing this, Markle ran towards Eloise and comforted her. The 36-year-old told the young girl that she used to be shy as well. When Prince Harry saw what his fiancée was doing, he walked towards Eloise and shook her hand.
Eloise was all smiles after her personal encounter with Markle and Prince Harry, but she no longer joined the group’s dance number. The couple returned to watching the show that was organized for them. They were photographed squatting against the wall of the room with huge smiles on their faces.
A video uploaded by the Daily Mail also showed Prince Harry copying the kids’ dance moves. Before leaving the room, Prince Harry encouraged the kids to give Markle a tight group hug, and then he later told them that she’s his.
Meanwhile, thousands of people flocked Cardiff to catch a glimpse of the future royal. She and Prince Harry were photographed shaking hands with their supporters of all ages.
Julie Hoefer, 31, caught Markle’s attention when she raised the American flag while waiting behind the barriers. “We don’t have a royal family in America, and the whole idea is amazing. And now we have one who joined the family – finally. It is super exciting,” she told People.
Two young kids also had the opportunity to give Markle and Prince Harry their early wedding gift. The box contained a love spoon with customized carving. As per usual, Markle also received bouquets of flowers, and she also signed her name on her fans’ notebooks, according to US Weekly.
