Meghan Markle Couldn’t Imagine Life Without First Husband Trevor Engelson, Pal Says

Meghan Markle was very much in love with her first husband Trevor Engelson but she changed.

The Duchess of Sussex was previously married to Engelson before she met and married Prince Harry. According to her childhood best friend Ninaki Priddy, Markle changed and the person she knew growing up was no longer there. She also shared how loving Markle was to her first husband.

“Meg used to tell me she couldn’t imagine a life without Trevor. She said if anything were to happen to him she wouldn’t be able to go on,” Priddy told Daily Mail.

“He cherished her, too. You should have seen the way he used to hold her face in his hands. We all felt he was her eternal love.”

Priddy added that they were shocked when they learned that the couple was getting a divorce after three seasons of Markle’s “Suits.” The Duchess of Sussex reportedly called Priddy and informed her ahead because she knew that their divorce would come out in the papers.

Priddy said that she knew they fought sometimes, but their fights were not huge. For her, the only obstacle in their relationship was the fact that Markle was living in Toronto to film “Suits” while Engelson was based in Los Angeles.

“But I thought that they were manoeuvring through it as best they could. Trevor would take his work to Canada to be with her and run his office remotely. I wasn’t aware there were any problems in the marriage,” she added.

According to Andrew Morton in his biography “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess,” Markle ended her marriage with Engelson out of the blue. The duchess reportedly just sent her wedding and engagement rings back to Engelson by a registered post.

Trevor’s former teacher Carolee Kim also couldn’t believe how their romance ended because they were a lovely couple. Their common friends said Markle could’t keep her hands off Engelson and would hug and kiss him while adopting a babyish voice calling him, “Trevity-Trev-Trev.”

According to David Jones, he learned something about Markle after asking around about her first marriage. He learned that after Markle attained the fame she craved for via “Suits” she began to change.

Markle and Priddy’s years of friendship ended after the former divorced Engelson. According to Priddy, Markle became very calculated and strategic in handling people and relationships.
