Meghan Markle Defies Royal Tradition With Cross Body Bag In Edinburgh
Meghan Markle recently defied royal tradition when she arrived in Scotland with a Strathberry cross body bag.
The 36-year-old former actress did not follow Kate Middleton’s footsteps in either holding a clutch bag or a hand bag. Markle opted to wear the Strathberry East/West bag in forest green shade across her chest and back. Some of Markle’s official photos showed the actress with the bag around her chest. But in some photos, she is also carrying the small accessory over her shoulder.
This is not the first time that Markle used a Strathberry bag during her official visit with Prince Harry. In December, she was also seen with her $675 burgundy leather tote bag from the same brand. The bag immediately sold out within minutes, and Markle’s current bag choice in forest green color is no longer available. However, the exact same bag in a different color is still available at $660.
During a previous interview with The Telegraph, Strathberry owners Guy and Leanne Hundleby said that they are grateful to Markle for supporting their brand. “It’s just amazing for us, it really is the greatest. It was a fantastic surprise and we are really excited. We’re suddenly incredibly busy,” Leanne said.
Meanwhile, Markle also looked stunning in her Burberry tartan coat, which is currently on sale in Nordstrom, as well as her Veronica Beard trousers. This is not the first time that Markle wore pants during her official visit. She also broke royal tradition when she and Prince Harry went to Cardiff, Wales.
Anna Dishaw, the editor of Meghan’s Mirror, told E! News, “There has perhaps been no better advocate for the pant silhouette since Katherine Hepburn than the newest soon-to-be member of the royal family, Meghan Markle. While it is 2018 and the idea of a woman wearing trousers is not exactly revolutionary, what has proven noticeable is that Meghan is blazing her own fashion trail, one perfectly tailored leg at a time.”
