Meghan Markle Follows Kate Middleton’s Pregnancy Trick For This Reason, Expert Says
Meghan Markle is following in Kate Middleton’s footsteps by doing the same pregnancy trick that the Duchess of Cambridge did.
Earlier this week, the Duchess of Sussex was photographed wearing an above the knee skirt when she visited the dog charity Mayhew. According to Cecile Reinaud, the founder of maternity brand Seraphine, Middleton has worn the same type of dress during all three of her pregnancies due to a simple reason.
“Kate did go for shorter for sure. She went shorter, on a couple of occasions well above her knee, which she never does normally,” she told InStyle.
The main reason for Middleton’s decision to wear shorter hemlines is because it flatters her silhouette. Markle, on the other hand, has quite a petite build so showing off her arms and legs is always a good trick to keep a nice silhouette.
However, it seems that that is the only similar thing when it comes to Markle and Middleton’s maternity wardrobe. After all, the two women have very different styles. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a lot of pleated, flowing skirts to accentuate her baby bump, while Markle has opted for more fitted styles.
Middleton was also photographed wearing maternity clothes that featured belts throughout her pregnancies. The trick helps create some shape to her outfits. Markle has been photographed mostly in her midi dresses and structured ensembles.
In related news, the Duchess of Sussex is scheduled to give birth to her first child in the Spring. There are rumors suggesting that she and Prince Harry’s baby will be a girl. However, the baby’s sex will only be announced after Markle gives birth.
Middleton gave birth to her first child, Prince George, in 2013. The third in the line to the throne was blessed with a sister, Princess Charlotte, in 2015. Three years later, they were joined by Prince Louis. All three of Middleton and Prince William’s children were born at St. Mary’s Hospital’s Lindo Wing. This is also where the Duke of Cambridge was born.
