Meghan Markle ‘Forced’ To Go Fly Fishing To Make This Royal Happy
Meghan Markle is an advocate for animals, and she is not necessarily a fan of hunting. In fact, she reportedly skipped the Boxing Day event that was attended by Prince Harry last year.
But this summer, the Duchess of Sussex is expected to try her luck in fly fishing during her trip to Balmoral with her husband and son, Archie. Despite not loving the activity, Markle will follow in the footsteps of the other members of the royal family to make Prince Charles happy.
While speaking with The Sun, a royal source said that Markle is a fish eater but she will still try to go fly fishing because Prince Charles enjoys the activity. After all, the heir to the throne’s grandmother, the Queen Mother, was also passionate about fly fishing.
“But there will be no softening on Meghan’s stance against hunting, any stag or deer hunting fills her with horror. Venison will not be one of her menu choices for sure,” the source said.
Meanwhile, Markle is not the only member of the royal family who doesn’t always enjoy the traditional activities of the British clan. When Princess Diana was still alive, she didn’t also enjoy going to picnics and barbecues with the royals while in Sandringham.
However, the Princess of Wales’ refusal to participate in the activities were considered a bad form for her. In the documentary “The Queen and Di: The Untold Story,” royal author Ingrid Seward said that Princess Diana’s decision was regarded as a huge mistake by Prince Charles and his relatives.
“Within a week of her return as Princess of Wales, she was sulkily refusing to go. She just about managed to drag herself out for the occasional picnic, but she would try everything to get out of barbecues… This was considered ‘extremely bad for,’” Seward said.
According to the royal author, Princess Diana had a hard time adjusting to her new life as a royal. And by the looks of it, Markle may also be experiencing the same thing.
