Meghan Markle Has Another Nickname Besides ‘Duchess Difficult’

It’s often reported how Meghan Markle has been given some unflattering nicknames from within royal circles and especially amongst members of her staff. However, someone else also has a nickname for Prince Harry’s wife—and it’s very different from the alleged “Duchess Difficult” moniker she also sports.

According to royal correspondent Russell Myers (via Express UK), Prince Charles also has a nickname he uses when referring to his daughter-in-law. However, his way of addressing the Duchess of Sussex is far more endearing than what others have reportedly called her.

“They really developed this strong bond. He’s even got a nickname for her,” Myers told Yahoo’s The Royal Box. “He’s been calling her tungsten, the metal, because she is tough and unbending.”

“It’s a bit of a weird one but I think he really respects her. He thinks she has managed to deal with it well. He has had his fair share of bad press in the past, a lot of crisis in his life, so I think he’s trying to get her to navigate the choppy waters of joining the Royal Family,” he continued. “That sort of bonding between them is really nice to see because she hasn’t had it easy, has she?”

The bond between the two was first put on display when Prince Charles agreed to step in and escort Markle down the aisle during her wedding to Prince Harry back in May 2018, after her father, Thomas Markle, backed out last minute due to health issues. Since then, as her relationship with her family has continued to splinter, it appears the bond with her father-in-law has only grown stronger.

As for her father, it appears that despite pleas from both him and her half-siblings, the Duchess of Sussex is officially done with them, especially since she is now a mother.

“Those bridges are completely burned. People I've been speaking to this week have said Meghan only wants positive influences in Archie’s life so she has completely banished her father-no contact going on whatsoever,” Myers said. “As I understand, he has been trying to have an intermediary reach out to her. He has had his son, Thomas Markle Jr trying to say this would be the perfect opportunity to try and get the family back together. But people close to Meghan I have been speaking to say ‘absolutely zero chance,’ of that happening.”
