Earlier this week, Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and Archie Harrison returned from their six-week hiatus in Canada. Leading up to their time away from the British royal family, some wondered if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had intentions of stepping back from their royal duties.

Upon their return, they announced on their Sussex Royal Instagram on Wednesday that they do, in fact, plan to transition away from the royal family as they work to chart their own path moving forward. This may come as a surprise to some fans as it was previously speculated if Queen Elizabeth II could prevent such a thing from occurring.

Now, new details are also emerging regarding other things that took place while the two were away from the UK.

According to Express, the Duke and Duchess visited Canada House in London on Tuesday to see the UK's high commissioner to the country. As revealed by Buckingham Palace, the couple had hoped to "thank them for the warm Canadian hospitality and support they received during their recent stay in Canada."

It was during the visit that Prince Harry made a suggestion that "horrified" Meghan, reports the outlet. At that time, the Duke said that the former "Suits" actress would be speaking to the staff in French. After saying that, the Duchess reportedly laughed and said "No!"

Had the Duchess spoken French, which is one of Canada's languages, it would not have been her first experience doing so. Recently, a post from her former lifestyle blog The Tig resurfaced that stated she had once wanted to dedicate her time to relearn the language. In that piece, she had additionally revealed she had also been "open" to other things prior to marrying Prince Harry in May 2018.
