Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Didn't Want To 'Address' This, But William, Kate Did
Earlier this month, members of the British royal family released their annual Christmas cards. While Prince William and Kate Middleton opted for a more traditional card to showcase their family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry chose their own unique aesthetic.
Now, a body language expert is revealing what she believes the two cards say about the individual royal couples.
The card created by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took a more nontraditional route and appeared as though it would "pop up in the pages of a glossy, high-class magazine."
"With the Christmas tree in the background and with Harry and Meghan wearing cosy-looking casuals, their Christmas card shot did possibly start by having a more traditional slant," body language expert Judi James told Mirror Online (via Express).
"But by opting for a very non-festive monochrome with stylish logo and by selecting what must have been a spontaneous moment as little Archie broke from the pose to crawl straight into the camera, the Sussex's card has become cool and rather Vogue-mag in style, as the two and obviously doting parents watch their son move in for his first close-up," she added.

As for what the expert believes Meghan and Harry's body language reveals, she said that it shows their "tight affection" due to their mirrored poses and that they are "equals." Additionally, she said that the way their eyes are both fixed on their son is "very much us watching a happy moment rather than them looking to camera to address us directly."
In contrast, the design used by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was described as "retro" by James. The couple, along with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, all posed around a motorcycle in the photo used for the card. It was also in full color, which is in contrast to the black and white image used by Meghan and Harry.
"William and Kate's photo possibly started out as a bit of a cool idea too with the Steve McQueen style pose on the retro motorcycle." However, she believes it became "emphatically traditional in many ways, from the slightly bleached, '50s style colouring to the way William is sitting in a relaxed macho splay." She additionally noted that Kate "stands more awkwardly beside him in a pretty but also rather retro floral dress."
Meghan and Harry's body language that leans away from the public would fall in line with the steps they have taken over the course of the year. In November, the royals' appearance at Westminster Abbey's Field of Remembrance was said to show them "disconnecting" from the public. They have also reportedly considered leaving their roles within the royal family and charting their own path, which could potentially lead to various consequences.
