Meghan Markle Knew Dad Would Publish Letters; Thomas Calls Harry The ‘Mastermind’
Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle Sr., recently released his daughter’s handwritten letters to the public. Now, it has been claimed that the Duchess of Sussex knew that her dad will release them while she was writing them.
Royal contributor Omid Scobie told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that Markle knows her dad too well that she must have had an inkling that he will make the letters public. “So, many of those things in that letter were written with the public in mind. She very much wanted to set the record straight,” he said.
“The letter being out there puts the story with her father very much in the past and she is focused on the present,” he added.
Last weekend, Thomas released the five-page letter to Daily Mail after Markle’s best friends came to her defense during an interview with People last week. Following its release, the former lighting director also said that he thinks Prince Harry was involved in writing the letter because of some terminologies used.
Towards the end of the “Suits” alum’s letter, Markle mentioned something about going down the rabbit hole. Thomas said that Americans do not use this because they do not know what it means.
Ingrid Seward, a royal expert, told Mirror that she agrees with Thomas’ observation. She said that the Duke of Sussex may have given his inputs to his wife and asked her to write it down because it was Markle’s handwriting in the letters.
Seward added that Prince Harry is clearly very angry at Thomas so it’s impossible that Markle will write the letter without collaborating with her husband.
Markle asked her dad to stop reading the tabloids and begged for him to allow her and her family to live in peace. The royal also confirmed that her dad didn’t tell her beforehand that he wouldn’t be able to make it to her royal wedding. Prince Charles was the one that walked Markle down the aisle on May 19.
