Meghan Markle May Announce Second Pregnancy Next Summer, Source Says
Meghan Markle will most likely make her second pregnancy announcement sometime in the summer, according to an expert.
The report came just days after Prince Harry told conservationist Jane Goodall that he and his wife would only have two children to help save the planet.
While speaking with Express, Katharine Graves, a childbirth expert, said that the Duchess of Sussex will be turning 38 on Sunday, Aug. 4. By the time she gets pregnant with her second baby, she will still be 38 years old.
The expert said that it is best for older moms to wait for an entire year before getting pregnant again. The “Suits” alum just gave birth to her son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6.
“As women get older, they become very aware of the ticking of their biological clock. Meghan may feel she has to make a choice between allowing pregnancy to happen sooner, realizing that it may take longer to get pregnant, but also that a pregnancy that happens sooner means there will be a shorter gap between her two babies,” she said.
But even though Markle may be pressured into having another baby very soon, medical research shows that it is still best to wait for an entire year since this is the safest option.
“A recent study showed the chance of an adverse outcome for an older mother was greater if there was a six-month gap between pregnancies that if there was a long gap. The information that we have is that it is best to wait 12 months before becoming pregnant again,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Graves also explained the definition of an older mom when it comes to pregnancies. She said that some people consider women over the age of 35 to be older mothers, while others say that women over 40 are the older ones.
But at the end of the day, the age of the woman is not the most important factor when it comes to pregnancies but the woman’s health.
