Meghan Markle May Never Talk To Queen Elizabeth About This Controversial Topic
Meghan Markle is not allowed to discuss one controversial topic with Queen Elizabeth II.
Katie Nicholl, the author of “Harry: Life, Loss, and Love,” recently said that the Duchess of Sussex could get in huge trouble if she talks about politics with Her Majesty.
“There’s no problem with Meghan speaking out on feminism, social justice, and equality issues, but if she starts getting political, she’ll be in hot water. The Queen is politically neutral and she expects her family to do the same,” she said.
However, Markle has already spoken about politics while at the Royal Foundation forum last year, but it could be due to the fact that she was a new royal then and couldn’t have managed to memorize all of the rules.
Before becoming a member of the royal family, the Duchess of Sussex also backed Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2016. At that time, the “Suits” alum also attacked President Donald Trump and called him misogynistic and divisive.
Meanwhile, Markle is not the only person who is expected to steer clear of discussions about politics. Years ago, Prince Harry also committed a huge blunder regarding the topic.
In 2009, a video emerged of the Duke of Sussex referring to Asian army colleagues using derogatory language. Prince Harry also wore a Nazi uniform during a costume party and faced backlash for it.
In related news, Markle and the Queen also made headlines this week after it was revealed that the Duchess of Sussex has already managed to win the heart of the monarch. But royal commentator Neil Sean said that this doesn’t make Markle the Queen’s favorite royal.
While speaking on Today, Sean said that the Queen’s go-to royal relative is Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
“The Queen’s favorite is the Countess of Wessex, Prince Edward’s wife. She is the number one the Queen goes to for a chat,” he said.
According to the commentator, Her Majesty is also a girl’s girl and she tries her best to connect with the younger members of the royal family.
