Meghan Markle Pregnancy Update: Everything Duchess Has Said About Her Royal Baby

The royals are notoriously private, and that’s one tradition Meghan Markle is sticking to during her pregnancy. She hasn’t said much about the royal baby, but she has opened up about a few things on the record.

She is thrilled to be pregnant. Rumors swirled that Prince Harry and Meghan wanted to start a family right after they got married, so it’s no surprise that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed how happy they were to have a baby on the way in the official announcement.

She wants to travel with her child. She even hopes to bring the royal baby to Australia one day. “Hopefully the next time we see you we'll have our little one with us,” Meghan told Sydney resident Daphne Dunne, Hello! reports.

She’ll have plenty of toys in the nursery. Meghan and Harry received an adorable kangaroo toy and little baby UGG boots from Australian Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife Lady Cosgrove. Later, at Tarzonga Zoo, the former “Suits” actress received a stuffed koala from a zookeeper, and Meghan promised it would go “in the nursery.”

They’re already thinking about names. “We’ve been given a long list of names from everyone, we’re going to sit down and have a look at them,” Meghan told a child in Melbourne, CNN reports.

The Duke and Duchess have kept quiet beyond that, in public at least. In private, there are surely lots of conversations about the little boy or girl. There are plenty of rumors circulating about how they might birth and raise their child. Meghan reportedly wants a home birth and plans to breastfeed in public to fight stigma against that. She also supposedly wants to make sure the public sees Prince Harry being an affectionate father.
