Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Announced Duchess’ Pregnancy In Australia For This Reason
Meghan Markle’s pregnancy was announced by Kensington Palace last month while she and Prince Harry were in Australia for their first overseas tour.
In ITV’s documentary “Harry & Meghan: The First Tour,” the Duke of Sussex said that he and his wife couldn’t think of a better place to make the announcement. The royal couple also went to Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand for their 16-day tour.
“We couldn’t think of a better location to announce the upcoming baby… be it a boy or a girl,” Prince Harry said (via The Sun).
Daphne Dunne, a 98-year-old royal fan who met Prince Harry twice in 2015 and 2017, said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s firstborn should be an Australian baby.
“I think it’s wonderful… it’s what he’s always wanted. He will be a marvelous dad. He won’t let anything stand in his way and he will be so gentle and loving. This should be an Australian baby,” she said.
Kensington Palace also announced that the royal couple will welcome their first child sometime in the spring of 2019. There are some rumors suggesting that Prince Harry and Markle’s baby will be born either in April or May, and the infant may also share a birthday with Princess Charlotte. Bookies also told The Sun that Markle’s baby may arrive in late March or early April.
Last month, Markle was also photographed wearing a stack of rings while at the Invictus Games in Sydney. Royal fans quickly speculated on the meaning behind the ring that seemed to feature Markle and Prince Harry’s birthstones. Peridot is Markle’s birthstone since her birthday is in August, and Prince Harry’s September birthstone is a blue a sapphire.
The third colored stone on Markle’s ring is a diamond, which suggests that she may give birth in April.
“I’m hoping Meghan’s stacked rings represent their birthstones and Baby Sussex is an April baby,” one fan tweeted (via Express).
“Meghan’s birthstone – green peridot. Baby Sussex birthstone – diamond. Harry’s birthstone – blue sapphire,” another person commented.
