Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Hire David Beckham’s Designer To Refurbish Cotswolds Home
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hired David and Victoria Beckham’s interior designer to refurbish their Cotswolds home.
Nicholas Frakes, a journalist for Express, revealed that the couple hired Vicky Charles to transform their home in the Oxfordshire village of Great Tew. Charles and his business partner Julia Corden have emerged as two of the biggest designers to design the homes of celebrities and high-profile figures.
Other than designing the home of the Beckhams, Charles and Corden have also worked on the properties of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s friends, George and Amal Clooney, as well as the home of Gordon and Tana Ramsey.
One source close to the owners of Charles and Co told Daily Mail, “Vicky is so ridiculously in demand. She has many, many high-profile clients.”
In related news, Prince Harry and Markle also made headlines this week after it was reported that they will have different roles with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Claudia Joseph, a royal commentator, told Express that the success of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first overseas tour could mean that the couple will now follow a different path compared with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
“I think this trip really showed the different paths they are going to take. I think we are going to see more and more of William and Kate as ‘team GB,’ for obvious reasons, and Harry and Meghan, I think will be ‘team Commonwealth.’ I think they will do a lot of touring. They have a natural affinity with people. They are both very bubbly and very relaxed and I think that is what’s going to happen,” she said.
Joseph also said that Prince Harry and Markle can take things a little bit too far and may be seen across the globe as celebrities and not just as royals.
“I think Harry and Meghan, especially, and to a certain extent William and Kate, they do want to behave like us. And they do want to be normal as much as they possibly can. Whether they will take that too far and become so accessible that they take away from the mystique of royalty which I think the Queen has done so well is the fact that she doesn’t talk about herself,” she explained.
