Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and Prince Charles had no angst during the royal garden party in 2018.
Just days after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal wedding, Markle made her first royal engagement. She attended the garden party for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday. However, according to Lady Colin Campbell, during the event, Markle dropped warning signs about her unhappiness.
Also, one netizen shared a video taken from the event with the caption that read, “Here is the video where Charles seems to tell Harry it’s time to leave.”
The post started a discussion among the netizens, with some speculating that there could be a rift between the royals as Prince Charles seemingly asked the younger couple to leave. However, MailOnline’s lip-reading expert debunked the claim.
The expert analyzed the footage and said that there “definitely wasn’t any angst” in the words exchanged between the royals.
“We are going now, We have to leave,” Prince Charles told his son.
Prince Harry nodded and patted his father on the back saying, “You go ahead.” The Duke of Sussex then turned to his wife, Markle.
“We will go now...see you later,” the Prince of Wales added.
“Yes, catch up...after,” Prince William’s brother said.
Markle and Prince Harry also bid goodbye to Camilla. The Duchess of Cornwall responded warmly by telling the Duchess of Sussex, “Just coming to say goodbye...we will see you later.”
Meanwhile, in Campbell’s new book entitled “Meghan and Harry: The Real Story,” she claimed that Markle did something that “astonished” a person at the event with “impeccable palace connections.”
“I can’t repeat it exactly, it’s in the book, but what I can say is, something happened at the very first garden party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate Prince Charles’ 70th birthday and all of his charity work,” Campbell told Daily Star.
”Something happened there on the Tuesday, and I was told about it on the Wednesday evening at dinner by a household name with impeccable palace connections. We were all absolutely gobsmacked and astonished, we all thought this doesn't bode well. It was not a good harbinger, we were all hoping against hope the information was wrong, but of course it was accurate,” she claimed.
Campbell also alleged that Markle has political ambitions and wants to run for president in the future. The author has not met Markle yet and said she neither likes nor dislikes the duchess. However, for her, Markle wasted the opportunity to be part of the working royals.
