Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been put through the wringer this summer. They've faced unrelenting backlash to the point that they've isolated themselves from those who were supposed to help them and instead turned to a more maternal source -- Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland.

"People think Doria is hippy-dippy and chilled out because she’s a yoga instructor," a source told The Mail on Sunday, according to Express. "But, like any mother, she’s hard as nails when it comes to protecting her daughter."

"Harry adores Doria and thinks she’s incredibly wise. These days, the Sussexes trust very, very few people even in their own respective families," the source said, adding that Doria is “well on the way to becoming Meghan’s only trusted adviser.”

It makes sense that the Duke and Duchess would want Ragland in their corner. As previously reported, she's helped them greatly with adjusting to their new addition, Archie Harrison.

At the time, an insider said that the 63-year-old "has been a big help with the baby and the life adjustment" and with rumors that Meghan could be pregnant again soon, the royal couple surely would want to keep her close by.

If Meghan and Prince Harry actually follow through with what the source said, it wouldn't be the first time they've ditched their royal handlers.

Most recently it's been reported that the 38-year-old mother upset Buckingham Palace when she opted for her own Hollywood-based team to manage her future career, rather than royal aides.
