Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had a rule for their wedding pictures.
British fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski revealed a surprising detail about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal wedding. According to him, the couple imposed a strict “no kissing” rule when it came to their wedding photos.
“There are definitely boundaries,” Lubomirski told Standard.
“You can’t have them kissing, you can’t have them screaming and running through the garden and obviously you have to see the ring.”
One of the most popular shots of Lubomirski during the event was when the bride and groom were beaming as they reclined on the steps of the church. The veteran royal photographer confessed that they only had a three-minute window to get the snap.
He confessed that he burst into tears when he looked back at the photos from that day and saw the stairs shot. He admitted that his emotions were partly due to relief and because it was so “beautiful.”
Lubomirski was introduced to the royal couple through Markle’s friend Markus Anderson. The photographer said that social media platforms were integral in getting the gig of his life. He even shared how he got the job.
“It was a very surreal end to the year because it came out of nowhere. I think one of Meghan’s friends saw on Instagram that I was in England during the announcement of the engagement and said to her, ‘You should meet Alexi. He’s great. You’d love him.’ And that was it,” he recalled.
Prince Harry and Markle have been married for over a year already. The couple welcomed their firstborn Archie in May.
At present, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are enjoying their six-week break. They are in the United States to spend their down time with Markle’s mom Doria Ragland.
There are rumors that Queen Elizabeth II is already ordering them to return to their royal duties. However, one should take the report with a grain of salt because the monarch is aware of their vacation and she even approved it.
Although their six-week vacation was approved, royal expert Eliot Wilson warned the couple that their long break might be questioned. Prince Harry and Markle are expected to engage in royal duties soon since their jobs are not that demanding for them to take such a long leave.
