Meghan Markle, Prince Harry May Earn This Much Per Speech After Signing With Speaking Agency
KEY POINTS
- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could rake in $1 million per speech
- The agency they have signed with previously asked for the same amount for their A-list clients
- The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left their senior royal roles to become financially independent
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed on with a popular speaking agency that has worked with several high-profile clients like Michelle and Barack Obama. In choosing this company, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could earn around $1 million per speech.
Harry Walker Agency, Page Six reported, is reportedly known for asking $1 million for their A-lister clients, and it could be the same case for Markle and Prince Harry. This was a major professional move for the couple after they left the royal family.
Markle and Prince Harry will be engaging in conversations that will be related to the causes and advocacies of the Archewell foundation. After stepping away from their senior roles to be financially independent, they have relocated to Los Angeles, California, where they have been spending their time helping and learning from the community.
“Topics will largely relate to the social issues the world is facing now including racial justice and gender equity, mental health, issues impacting women and girls and the environment—as well as the intersectional nature of these issues,” a source revealed to Town & Country.
In January, the Duke of Sussex announced their decision to depart from their royal life to have financial independence, which they never would have gotten if they had remained with the powerful clan. According to the announcement, this move will help them carry on with their responsibility to Queen Elizabeth II, but, at the same time, they will have financial autonomy.
In May, it was reported that Markle and Prince Harry had also begun repaying their official Windsor residence, the Frogmore Cottage. Their U.K. home had undergone major renovations that allegedly cost $3.1 million – an amount that was shouldered by the taxpayers.
Their decision to pay for the renovations was in line with the statement of the palace officials that said the Sussexes will cover their own expenses and other costs moving forward.
According to the Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are paying over $18,000 per month. It was also said that the term is “rental plus … in which they pay more than what the commercial rate would be, enabling them to pay down those building costs with the excess,” the outlet explained.
