Meghan Markle-Prince Harry Royal Wedding: Seating Arrangement Teased By Royal Expert
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have fewer guests at their wedding compared to Kate Middleton and Prince William. But the couple is still expected to follow the traditions when it comes to the seating arrangement.
Royal expert Alastair Bruce recently said that the arrangement of the guests at the wedding venue depends primarily on Markle and Prince Harry. The Lord Chamberlain’s Office will also help the couple organize the venue according to their desired seat plan.
“They will assist him. They know the layout of St. George’s Chapel, and they will guide him,” he said.
Typically, the groom’s family sits on the right and the bride’s guests sit on the left. Close family members sit in the choir section in front of the chapel.
Meanwhile, Hello! magazine previously predicted that Prince Harry and Markle will send out wedding invitations mid-March or eight weeks before their May 19 wedding. The ceremony will be attended by other royals, politicians, family members, friends and even some of Markle’s friends and co-stars.
But since Prince Harry isn’t in succession to the throne, he doesn’t have to worry about inviting a lot of people to his nuptials. St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle can only hold 800 guests, while Prince William’s Westminster Abbey wedding venue held 1,900 guests.
“The thing about Prince Harry is that he’s not seen to be in the direct line of succession, and therefore the pressure on him to invite the long list of people, who had to be asked to the wedding of the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge is not present,” Bruce said.
As of late, other details about Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding are still being kept under wraps. It is still unclear what dress the “Horrible Bosses” star will wear. There are speculations suggesting Prince Harry will wear a morning dress, but nothing has been confirmed yet by the Kensington Palace.
There are also some buzz surrounding the Obamas and whether or not they will be part of the couple’s royal guest list and not Donald Trump.
