Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shared a new photo of their daughter Lilibet "Lili" Diana following the Sussex family's visit to the U.K. for Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebration.
On Monday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released the adorable shot of Lilibet smiling as she plays in the yard of her family's U.K. home, Frogmore Cottage, where she celebrated her first birthday Saturday. The toddler wore a blue dress and a white lace bow in her red hair — which she inherited from her dad Prince Harry.
A spokesperson for the couple told People Monday that Prince Harry and Markle invited some of their close friends and family members to a "casual, intimate backyard picnic" at Frogmore Cottage to celebrate their daughter's milestone birthday.
Violet Bakery's Claire Ptak, who created Markle and Prince Harry's wedding cake in 2018, made a special cake for Lili, the report said.
One of the Sussexes' close family friends and guests, Misan Harriman, took the "candid, spontaneous photograph [of Lili] that the Duke and Duchess are pleased to share today," their rep said.
The photographer shared the photo of Lili on Twitter, along with snaps of his family from the toddler's birthday celebration. "It was such a privilege to celebrate the 1st birthday of Lilibet with my family and hers! Joy and face painting all around," he wrote in the caption.
Prince Harry and Markle "remain incredibly touched by the countless birthday wishes for their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor," their spokesperson said.
They were "amazed to learn that people around the world made donations" amounting to over [$100,000] to the World Central Kitchen (WCK) in her honor," the rep continued, adding that the couple "extended their gratitude to all who have shown support for the organization, which is especially near to their hearts."
WKC provides meals in response to humanitarian, climate and community crises, most recently providing support in Uvalde, Texas, and in Ukraine. The organization builds resilient food systems with locally-led solutions.
Royal fans and social media users couldn't help but gush over Lili following the release of the rare photo of the child.
"A beautiful princess! Her daddy's hair and eyes, Spencer genes are strong," one tweeted with red heart emojis.
"Harry's genes are undefeated. Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos of your beautiful family and friends," another wrote.
"Prince Harry just said copy and paste to Lilibet," a third Twitter user wrote. "Happy birthday, munchins."
"Cuteness overload," another commented.
Last week, Prince Harry and Markle traveled to the U.K. with Lili and her older brother Archie, 3, for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. They returned to California Sunday.
