Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Won’t Seek Royal Baby Title For This Reason
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will most likely not ask Queen Elizabeth II to give their baby a royal title.
Luke Hawker, a journalist for Express, claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be following in the footsteps of Princess Anne, who did the same thing for her children, Zara Tindall, and Peter Phillips.
It has been revealed that Markle and Prince Harry want to give their child a normal life, and they also want to parent him or her as any non-royal family would.
“The word ‘normal’ looms very large for Harry and Meghan when it comes to their child’s future,” a source said.
Last week, it has been reported that the Queen will most likely bestow an official royal title to her great-grandchild. Etiquette expert Debrett said that if the couple’s firstborn is a boy, he will inherit the official title of Earl of Dumbarton. After Prince Harry and Markle tied the knot on May 19, the Queen gave the same title to the Duke of Sussex.
But if Prince Harry and Markle will have a baby girl, her official royal title will be Lady Mountbatten-Windsor. Their second child, if it will be a boy, will be called Lord Mountbatten-Windsor.
Years ago, Princess Anne turned down her mom’s offer to give her children royal titles. She opted to give her kids a normal life, and they were able to pursue their own careers. Prince Harry and Markle are reportedly keen on taking this same route.
After all, Prince Charles’ vision previously stated that he wants a slimmed-down monarchy where the focus will be solely on the future king and his family. In this case, the focus will, later on, be on Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Years ago, Prince Harry also revealed that he struggled with his royal title as a prince and the son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
“I didn’t like the position I was in,” he said.
