Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s Baby To Be Named This, Australians Claim
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may opt to give their baby a unique name.
Some Australians claimed that the name Sydney will be fitting if the royal couple will have a baby girl or a baby boy because the moniker is getting more and more popular in the United States.
“Terrific news! I think the baby name will need an Aussie flavor too – Sydney? A great name for a boy or a girl!” Kellie Sloane tweeted.
Several other royal fans took their thoughts to Twitter to say that Sydney Sussex sounds like a wonderful name for the royal baby. But bookies said that it is likely for the couple to opt for more regal names and follow in the footsteps of the other royals.
Betting intelligence site Bookmakers.tv, says that bookies are rushing to place bets on what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will name their baby. In fact, the public’s interest in the unborn child’s name is greater than their interest in guessing Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children’s names.
Some of the early frontrunners are James with a 16/1 odd, Mary with a 16/1 odd, Diana, Arthur, and Alice with 12/1 odds.
Katie Baylis, a spokesperson for Betfair, told Express, “At this stage, Diana, Arthur, and Alice, which was favorite at different stages for Kate and William’s babies, are the 12/1 frontrunners. However, with months until the baby is born, those odds will shorten, change, and other names will come to the forefront, so watch this space.”
Alex Kostin, a spokesperson for the website, said, “Meghan and Harry’s popularity is off the charts and their good news will send the public into a royal betting frenzy of epic proportions. Fans are so keen to speculate on every aspect of the baby and millions will be riding on the name, arrival date, sex among many other predictions. Bookies will be desperate the pair go for an outside choice of name as if they follow tradition, royal watchers will cash in like never before.”
