Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s Wedding A ‘Nightmare’ For Thomas One Year Later

Meghan Markle’s dad reportedly found her wedding with Prince Harry to be a “nightmare.”

A year ago, Markle had a falling out with her father, Thomas Markle Sr., even before her big day. According to Rachel Johnson, a British journalist and editor, Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding would bring inconvenience to Thomas Sr.

“Which is why my heart breaks for poor old Thomas Markle Senior as he starts his long walk from freedom into the pitiless glare of the world's gaze,” Johnson wrote.

The TV presenter added that Markle’s royal romance with Prince Harry was not what her father wanted because he was the type who wanted to be away from the limelight. In fact, he moved to Mexico to enjoy a quiet life after his retirement. Thomas’ staff described him as polite and generous and a “committed loner.”

“For his daughter, all this Royal Wedding Princess Bride Panto is a dream come true. It's even more perfect for the Firm, too, which is why Meghan has been front and centre from the off,” Johnson wrote. “But amid the celebrations, spare a thought for Mr Markle. This isn't a Disney fairy tale – it must be his idea of a total nightmare.”

Surprisingly, in the run-up of Prince Harry and Markle’s big day, it was revealed that Thomas agreed to get paid and stage a photoshoot. The said move reportedly left the former actress “upset, disturbed and hurt.”

To make the matter worse, Thomas canceled his attendance at the royal wedding because he had major heart surgery. He was supposed to give Markle away.

An insider claimed that Thomas just faked his heart surgery to have an excuse so he could not attend the royal wedding because he wanted to skip the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s big day to avoid further embarrassment following his scandal.

Currently, Markle and Thomas are still not on speaking terms. Several sources claimed that the arrival of baby Archie won’t fix the father and daughter’s issue.

Thomas’ ex-wife, Roslyn Markle, supported Markle’s decision. She warned the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from making up with Thomas because she felt that he wouldn’t change.

“Knowing Tom as I do, Meghan would be a fool to have him in her life,” Roslyn told Mirror.
