Meghan Markle Reportedly ‘Attracted’ To David Beckham, Sources Say

Meghan Markle was reportedly attracted to David Beckham.

The Duchess of Sussex’s close circle of friends includes Victoria Beckham. However, an insider told New Idea that it was actually her husband, David Beckham, who first caught Markle’s attention.

“Not many people realise this, but Meghan had her eye on David Beckham long before Harry came into the picture,” a source close to the palace told the publication.

“Meghan of course had always admired David from afar and knew he was married – but she still found herself attracted to him,” the source continued.

“The more they talked, the more besotted Meghan was – even though she knew it couldn’t go anywhere because of Victoria.”

In the end, Markle decided to be just friends with David and Victoria because she knew that they are one of the world’s biggest power couples and if she wants to move in A-list celebrity circles, she needs to befriend A-listers.

Markle reportedly decided a few years ago that she wanted to move to the UK and find fame in London since her acting career was struggling back then. She wanted a change of scenery and wanted to turn her life around.

Markle’s friend Lizzie Cunday revealed that the former actress wanted to have a Brit boyfriend after her divorce from her first husband, Trevor Engelson. Markle sounded desperate at the time since she was planning to join an English reality TV show to find one. Cunday added that when Markle is “committed to be a huge star and a household name” and when she wants something, there’s no stopping here.

Many consider Markle a social climber. However, royal commentator Elaine Lui believed that just like Markle, her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton is also a social-climber. According to Lui, the Duchess of Cambridge was not supposed to enroll at St. Andrews University, she changed her school when she learned that Prince William was going to the said university.

Lui pointed out that through Prince William, Middleton got her way into the duke’s circle which was also called “social climbing and networking.”

Prince Harry and Markle are already parents to baby Archie. Many believe that the couple will soon make another baby announcement. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are likely to welcome their second child next year.
