KEY POINTS

- Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are planning to visit the Queen in Balmoral
- Meghan Markle is not keeping Archie away from Queen Elizabeth
Meghan Markle reportedly wants her husband, Prince Harry to stay close to the royal family after their bombshell exit.
Contrary to initial reports, a source told Hollywood Life that there’s no bad blood between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as well as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles. In fact, Markle is even the one that has been pushing Prince Harry to stay in contact with his family.
“Meghan wants Harry to remain close to his family, there’s no question about that. It’s been a tough time but at the end of the day, he still loves his family and that won’t change and hasn’t changed. He has always been close to his grandmother and he very much wants her to have time with Archie, he loves seeing them together,” the source said.
The insider went on to say that Markle has agreed to spend time in Balmoral this summer but the Sussexes have not made any concrete plans because of the global health pandemic. But the reports that Markle is keeping Archie away from the Queen are reportedly false.
However, the claims made by the tabloid should be taken with a grain of salt even though the best-case scenario is for the Sussexes to really maintain a relationship with the royal family.
Earlier this month, royal correspondent Keir Simmons said that it is unlikely for the Queen to be sad over the so-called Archie snub because she’s not fond of babies, to begin with.
“Some of the British press is trying to paint Her Majesty and Meghan’s apparent decision to not bring baby Archie here to the UK as disappointing for the Queen. I’ve got to tell you, that is very unlikely. Anyone who knows the biography of the Queen will know that she really isn’t that into babies,” Simmons said.
It is also unlikely for Markle to have been keeping Archie away from the Queen and the other members of the royal family. She and Prince Harry decided to not bring Archie to the United Kingdom during their final engagements because they were there for work and not for leisure.
According to Princess Diana’s former royal protection officer, Ken Wharfe, Archie is also a high-security risk that’s why leaving him in Canada is what’s best for him and his parents.
