Meghan Markle Shockingly Ditched Engagement, Wedding Rings Before Quitting Royal Role

Meghan Markle was spotted without her engagement and wedding rings before announcing that she and Prince Harry were quitting their royal roles.

The Duchess of Sussex embarked on a solo visit to London’s National Theatre. On her outing without Prince Harry, Markle was noticeably not wearing her engagement and wedding rings.

In the photos shared by Daily Mail, Markle cut a low-key figure by donning a pair of tailored trousers, blue shirt and dark coat. She left her gold wedding band and engagement ring at home. The publication noted that one of the reasons Markle ditched her rings is her post pregnancy weight loss. The duchess might be planning to resize them.

Earlier in the day, Markle was seen wearing the rings when she and Prince Harry visited Canada House, Trafalgar Square to personally thank Canada High Commissioner Janice Charette for the warm welcome they received during their stay in the country.

The sighting of Markle without her rings happened before she and Prince Harry made their shocking announcement. The couple said that they are stepping away from their royal roles but will continue to collaborate with Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Prince William. Prince Harry and Markle also said that they will be working to be “financially independent.”

Queen Elizabeth II was reportedly furious and disappointed at the couple’s decision because they didn’t consult any senior members of the royal family for their plans. The royals only learned about their decision when it was reported on TV.

Markle’s sighting without her rings also came after reports that she and Prince Harry were getting divorced. The couple’s marriage reportedly hit the rock bottom in October when they attended the WellChild Awards in London. Markle was seen storming off on her husband, with the latter looking visibly stressed and upset. However, during Prince Harry and Markle’s latest sighting together, the couple appeared loved up and happy.
