Meghan Markle Victim Of Australian Singer Missy Higgins’ ‘Lies’ For This Reason
Australian singer-songwriter Missy Higgins just admitted to lying about her relationship with Meghan Markle.
After meeting the Duchess of Sussex in Australia, Higgins posted a photo on social media and said that Prince Harry’s wife was four months pregnant. Royal fans questioned Higgins claim and said that it is impossible for Markle to be that far along.
During her appearance on Monday’s episode of “The Project,” Higgins clarified her comment and said that she just made it up.
“I read somewhere that people had worked out she was three-to-four months pregnant because she said she was due in the northern Spring. I just thought everyone knows she was four months pregnant. We weren’t hanging out and she wasn’t telling me her deepest secrets,” she said (via Daily Mail).
Kensington Palace confirmed Markle’s pregnancy on Oct. 15 after the former actress arrived in the continent with her husband.
Last month, Higgins revealed that she met the Duke and Duchess of Sussex while they were on their first overseas tour.
“What an honor to meet the beautiful Duchess today! I said I felt sorry for her having to do all these meet-and-greets while four months pregnant!” Higgins captioned the post that featured herself carrying her daughter Luna while shaking hands with the “Suits” alum.
Her caption provoked some Instagram users to question Higgins. “I didn’t think she was so far along – I thought she was about two months gone,” one fan commented.
But despite the error, Higgins only had nothing but positive things to say about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“She was super sweet and we met Harry afterward, and he kind of squeezed Luna’s chubby legs and said, ‘Who is this little cutie?’ And he made some joke about never having been seen in the same room as Ed Sheeran because they are both redheads. He was charming,” Higgins gushed (via Daily Mail).
