Why Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Baby Won’t Heal Ongoing ‘Bitter Family War’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby won’t heal the latter’s ongoing bitter family war.
Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal commentator, told Express that not even the baby’s arrival will put an end to the Markle clan’s feud.
“Empathetically not! After their outrageous behavior, it just won’t happen and I don’t think anyone expects that it ever would,” he said.
After Markle’s pregnancy was announced last month, members of her dad’s side of the family have urged her to make amends. Thomas Markle Sr., Markle’s dad, said that he wants to be a part of his grandchild’s life. Markle’s half-siblings, Samantha and Thomas Jr., also begged the “Suits” alum to reach out to their father.
But until today, Markle has not responded to her family’s interviews and has not also revealed whether or not she will introduce them to her baby when she gives birth in the spring of 2019.
Days after Markle’s pregnancy was announced, her dad spoke with Daily Mail and said that the news brought back memories from the first time he held his daughter in his arms.
“The first thing I thought about was holding Meghan as a newborn. I thought, ‘My baby is having a baby.’ A baby is a blessing and I look forward to seeing a little Meghan or a little Harry,” he said.
Meanwhile, Fitzwilliams did not completely shut down the possibility of Markle rekindling her relationship with her family or her dad, at the least. But this may only happen if the Markles stop talking to the press for good.
“It is to be hoped that, over time, a relationship will be reestablished with her father but if it happens it will happen quietly and absolutely not whilst he talks to the press. The behavior of the rest of the family simply does not deserve comment. She is happily married and when she, as the first American princess gives birth, it will be a joyous global event,” he said.
In related news, Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, is expected to be actively involved in her grandchild’s life. There are rumors suggesting that she will be moving to the United Kingdom before Markle gives birth.
