Meghan Markle Wanted Firstborn To Be A Girl? Duchess Reportedly Has ‘Secret Daughter’
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were blessed to welcome their firstborn son, Archie, on May 6. But it has now been revealed that the Duchess of Sussex might have secretly been praying for a baby girl.
A source recently told New Idea that Markle always wanted to have a daughter. This is also the reason why in 2015, she had a watch engraved with her and her soon-to-be daughter's initials.
“She’s longed for a little girl for so long and can’t wait until she’s blessed with their own princess,” the source said.
Since Markle and Prince Harry had a baby boy, the source said that the former actress is filling in the void by continuously bonding with her best friend’s daughter.
Jessica Mulroney’s adorable daughter Ivy is close to Markle. The insider said that Prince Harry’s wife sees Ivy as her secret daughter, and the royal treats the youngster as if she’s her own child.
And even though Markle is living in the United Kingdom and Ivy is with her parents and brothers in Canada, the Duchess of Sussex still makes it a point to call her every day.
“They talk and Skype every day and Meg is always sending handwritten letters and sweet thoughtful gifts – she’s long thought of Ivy as a daughter,” the source said.
Meanwhile, Markle is also reportedly protective of Mulroney’s daughter. The source said that one of the reasons why Prince Harry’s wife decided to shut down her social media account was to protect the young girl’s privacy.
However, it is important to note that none of these claims have been confirmed or denied by the palace or by Markle. And as a member of the royal family, Markle couldn’t have her own personal social media account.
In related news, Markle also made headlines this week after it was revealed that she and Prince Harry snubbed Queen Elizabeth’s invite to head to Balmoral this summer. Critics are convinced that the snub was due to the royal couple’s ongoing feud with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
