It’s been just shy of four months since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child but that hasn’t stopped the public from predicting when the royal couple will announce they’re expecting again.

In July, the Duke of Sussex revealed that he and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, were planned on having two children "maximum." If the royal couple does decide to welcome another baby into their brood, Meghan may have to follow some strict rules the second time around.

As noted by Express last September, there are “unusual and secret” royal baby traditions that members of the monarchy are expected to follow when pregnant. The first noted rule is not announcing the sex of the child before its birth. Meghan and Harry followed this guideline and didn’t announce that they have safely delivered their baby boy Archie until after his birth on May 6.

One of the biggest traditions is that Queen Elizabeth II is the first to be informed of a royal child’s arrival. “One tradition that is still in place is that the Queen must be notified first knowing all the details of the royal baby before any information goes public,” the outlet reported at the time.

Should Meghan get pregnant again, she will also reportedly have to watch what she wears in public. As noted by Express, “royal protocol” states that members of the British royal family are expected to follow a strict dress code during appearances. This would mean that Meghan would be frowned upon for her to wear “comfy, baggy clothes” and “tracksuit bottoms.”

Of course, Meghan did not follow all of the expected royal baby traditions the first time around. While her sister-in-law Kate Midleton delivered all three of her children with husband Prince William at the famed Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London, Meghan chose to forgo this in order for a private delivery.

Meghan also attended a baby shower for her first child in February, which is not a normal occasion for British royals.
