Meghan Markle shined at the British Fashion Awards on Monday night. She was there to honor her wedding dress designer, but there was also a subtle reference to Prince Charles in her jewelry choice.

The Duchess of Sussex kept her accessorizing to a minimum, but along with her wedding rings, the former actress also wore a few gold bracelets and simple stud earrings. The accessories were from Pippa Small and made by artisans from the Turquoise Mountain Foundation in Afghanistan, a charity that Prince Charles founded in 2006.

According to the designer’s website, the earrings are the Nosheen Stud earrings, which are “hand made in Kabul by the men and women artisans of the Turquoise Mountain Foundation.” The $60 pair is already on backorder. At least one of Meghan’s bracelets also came from the designer. The $430 Wajiha bangle is also on backorder and was also made in Afghanistan.

The Sun’s royal correspondent Emily Andrews believes Prince Charles will be touched by the gesture. “Meghan wants to wear jewelry and clothes that are both fabulous and have a social conscience,” she explained. “And by wearing it at such a high-profile event as last night, she’s ensuring her choices make a difference. Charles will be chuffed!”

While rumors rage about who Meghan is feuding with in the royal family, Prince Charles is said to be rather fond of his pregnant daughter-in-law. In a BBC documentary for Charles’ 70th birthday, Prince Harry explained that his dad was happy to walk the California native down the aisle.

“I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming, and he immediately said, ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Megan needs and I’m here to support you.’ For him, that’s a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know he’s our father so of course he’s gonna be there for us,” Harry said.

The Daily Mail’s Rebecca English recently revealed that there is a photo in Clarence House, where Charles lives, of him walking the Duchess of Sussex down the aisle at St George’s Chapel.
