Meghan Markle’s Child Won’t Be First ‘Black Royal Baby’ For This Reason
Meghan Markle’s unborn child won’t be the first black royal baby, according to Lady Colin Campbell.
The “I’m A Celeb” star appeared on “Good Morning Britain” on Tuesday to slam reports that Markle and Prince Harry’s baby will be black.
“I’m very sorry the baby is not going to be black. It’s going to have black blood but it’s also going to have white blood. You can’t be seven-eights white and be called black. I think that’s racism of the highest order,” she said (via Daily Star).
Paul Burrell, Princess Diana’s former royal butler, was with Campbell during her recent appearance on the show. He appeared shocked after hearing the reality TV star’s statement. But Campbell went on to justify her claim.
“That’s rather like Hitler’s definition of a Jew. I’m sorry if you’re one-eighth Jewish, you’re completely Jewish and therefore into the oven. If you’re part black, you’re not fully black,” she said.
Meanwhile, Campbell also slammed the “Suits” alum for the way she has been treating her ongoing family drama. As of late, Markle has not responded to her half-sister and father’s requests to speak to her. Campbell said that she now thinks less of Prince Harry’s wife because of the way she’s treating her family.
“I think the way she’s treated her family is appalling. I hope for her sake and the sake of the monarchy and for both sides of her family she starts to embrace them. You know that classical narcissism is adoration, discount, discard,” she said.
Following Kensington Palace’s announcement that Markle is expecting her first child in the spring of 2019, her dad, Thomas Markle Sr., and half-sister, Samantha Markle, both released their statement. Thomas said that he wants to be a part of his grandchild’s life, and Samantha said that the news about Markle’s pregnancy has softened their issues.
But as of late, it is still unclear whether or not Markle will make amends with her family for the sake of her baby.
