Meghan Markle’s Commonwealth Hat Criticized For Looking Like ‘Nurse’s’; Camilla Commits Blunder
Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and Camilla Parker Bowles reunited again with the rest of the members of the royal family.
On Monday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Duke of York joined the Commonwealth Day service with Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey. The event marked the 70th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth
Middleton opted to wear a red Catherine Walker coat with matching beret. She paired her getup with a neutral suede clutch and pumps by Emmy London.
On the other hand, Markle wore a white hat, a coat and paired it with a dress by Victoria Beckham. To add contrast to her outfit, the pregnant royal wore a pair of dark green heels with a matching clutch.
There is no question that both duchesses looked stunning, but not everyone was impressed by Markle’s outfit, especially her choice of hat.
“Meghan this doesn’t look like a mode you would have chosen; your much more stylish than this,” one netizen wrote on Twitter adding that it resembles a nurse’s cap.
The same online user believed that Middleton’s double-breasted look was more royal. Markle should have worn navy blue as it looks better especially if she has to appear alongside Middleton.
Another netizen named ALessandro was wondering who between the two has a better fashion consultant and wrote “RedBlood Beret vs Head nurse at London hospital hat.”
Isabel C. Martins praised Middleton for being “elegant” as always with her well-trimmed hair. The netizen also complimented the Duchess of Cambridge’s red hat because it’s “beautiful perfect and happy.” On the other hand, she said that Markle’s hat was “very bad” adding it looks like a hat of a “cook.”
Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cornwall committed a fashion faux pas for choosing a purple dress. According to Carly Read, a journalist for Express, Camilla made a fashion blunder for wearing the same shade of purple as Queen Elizabeth II for the event.
Camilla sported a long purple velvet coat with button detail down the front of the garment and puff shoulders similar to Her Majesty’s. The 92-year-old monarch sported a button-down jacket with a matching skirt. Both wore black gloves and footwear. They also accessorized their outfits with matching handbags of the same shade.
