Meghan Markle’s Dad ‘Saddened’ Over Christening Snub, Reveals He’s Member Of Anglican Church
Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle Sr., recently expressed his sadness over yet another snub from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the royal family.
This weekend, Prince Harry and Markle’s son, Archie, was baptized in a private ceremony in Windsor. While speaking with The Sun, Thomas said that he would’ve attended the baptism if only he received an invitation. He also revealed that he’s a member of the Anglican church.
“I have been asked if I would have liked to have gone to Britain to see my new grandson being christened. I was an altar boy at age 12, a confirmed member of the Queen’s church at age 14, and Archie’s my new grandson, so of course I would have enjoyed being there for the blessing, wishing Archie and his parents' health and happiness,” he said.
Thomas has been estranged from his daughter ever since he admitted to posing for fake photographs before the royal wedding last year. After the nuptials on May 19, 2018, the Duchess of Sussex wrote a letter to her dad pleading for him to stop talking to the press.
Months later, Thomas exposed the private letter that was given to him by his daughter via Daily Mail. Since then, Thomas and his other children have been giving interviews to the press about Markle. The former Hollywood actress has not addressed her feud with her dad and her half-siblings until today.
But for the past couple of months, Thomas has not been giving interviews to the press. Royal experts said that he has deliberately stayed silent because he wanted to score an invite to his grandson’s christening.
Unfortunately, a reconciliation between the Markles seems impossible at the moment. A source told The Sun that Markle is distancing herself from her dad because he could be a bad influence on Archie.
Markle has become especially close to Prince Charles in the wake of her feud with her dad and sees him as her new father figure.
