Meghan Markle’s Engagement Ring From Prince Harry To Include Princess Diana’s Diamonds?
Meghan Markle’s engagement ring from Prince Harry will reportedly feature some of the diamonds found in Princess Diana’s brooch.
According to US Weekly, the royalty has already designed an engagement ring for his soon to be fiancée. However, the Kensington Palace has not made any announcement yet regarding Markle and Prince Harry’s engagement so it’s unclear whether or not the latter is already preparing an engagement ring.
Earlier this week, “The Queen’s Jewels” author, Leslie Field, told People that it’s possible for Prince Harry to not give Markle a family heirloom. “I think he will buy her something new and something quite modern,” she said. After all, Field said that Markle is a fan of gold jewelries so Prince Harry could easily find something that will fit her taste.
The author is also predicting that Prince Harry will team up with a high-end jeweler for Markle’s engagement ring. “I have an idea Harry is going to choose not to go down the traditional route so much, in that he will not have a sapphire,” she said.
Prince Harry’s older brother, Prince William, gave his wife, Kate Middleton his mom Princess Diana’s blue stone ring. Queen Mother also owned the blue stone before passing it on to Princess Diana.
“Harry intends his marriage to be quite different and his ring for Meghan is going to be the start of a family collection of jewelry as opposed to a hand-me-down,” Field said.
The publication claimed that even though there’s still no certainty when it comes to Markle’s engagement ring, it’s highly likely that it will be made from a nugget of Welsh gold from the Clogau St David’s mine. This has become a royal tradition ever since Queen Mother chose it for her wedding in 1923.
Meanwhile, there have also been rumors about a possible summer wedding for Markle and Prince Harry. But until the palace announces an engagement, there won’t be any wedding. And once the palace announces the engagement, Markle and Prince Harry will sit down for their first interview as an engaged couple, according to People.
