Meghan Markle's Future Sister-In-Law Arrested For Assault Months After New Year Brawl

Meghan Markle's brother and future sister-in-law were involved in yet another drama following their boozed-up altercation earlier this year.

According to Daily Mail, Thomas Markle Jr.'s fiancée, Darlene Blount, was arrested on Friday. She was charged with fourth-degree assault. A Josephine County Jail deputy told the publication that she was bailed on Saturday.

There are only a few details about the said encounter. According to a source, "Last night there was a domestic violence call at the home of Thomas Markle [Jr] and Darlene Blount. Darlene was arrested on assault charges."

This was not the first time that the couple was involved in such a conflict. Earlier this year, just minutes before the clock struck midnight on New Year's Day, Blount was also arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault after her altercation with Thomas. She spent 30 hours in the Josephine County Sherrif's department.

In the transcript of the 911 call that Blount made during their altercation, she claimed that Thomas was acting weird. Markle's half-brother reportedly accused her of being with another man. When she was asked if he was trying to hurt or kill her, she just said that he was "mentally abusive." At that time, she said that she's more concern for his safety than her's.

"Just mentally but I'm more in fear for his own safety right now (inaudible) really [expletive] weird to me," Blount said. "I don't know what to do."

Thomas initially said that Blunt began "pummeling me in the face with her firsts." However, he later changed his statement and said that his injuries were self-inflicted. He admitted to having said some swear words and that his fiancée called the police and ended up being arrested.

"I might have said that Darlene beat me up," Thomas explained. "She was arrested for domestic violence. It was a big confusion."

Following Blount and Thomas' New Year brawl, the duchess' sibling spoke and somehow blamed Prince Harry and Markle's royal romance for the unwanted attention they received. According to him, the events in their lives were magnified due to their ties to the Duchess of Sussex.

"It hasn't been easy. Meghan's relationship with Prince Harry has shone a spotlight on our family," Thomas said. "It doesn't help when you have issues and your sister is engaged to Royalty. It adds a whole new level of scrutiny."
